About The Literacy Connection

The Literacy Connection, an affiliate of ProLiteracy America, is a non-profit, community-based 501(c)(3) organization helping individuals acquire fundamental literacy skills and/or learn to speak and write in English. Students are provided tutoring services free of charge in the sixteen communities we serve:

The Literacy Connection was organized in 1984. Since that time, hundreds of volunteers have provided thousands of students with tens of thousands of hours of tutoring. The agency has won numerous national honors.

The Literacy Connection is a proud member of the Elgin Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce.
