This exciting annual contest raises money for The Literacy Connection’s programs and tests the capacity of participants to remember both frivolous and important facts from a variety of categories. The event includes a raffle and a silent auction as well. Top teams win prizes, trophies, and – perhaps most important – bragging rights. For the first time, the 2008 Trivia Bee was a morning event, with continental breakfast and registration starting at 8:30 a.m, with the competition at 9:30 a.m. Trivia Bee took place at a new venue as well: the Fox River Room in the beautiful Grand Victoria Casino, 250 South Grove Avenue in Elgin. Teams this year also had up to four members - many minds make light work! Teams, supporters and audience members had the afternoon free to celebrate their victories, drown their losses, and enjoy their new raffle and silent auction prizes. The 2009 Trivia Bee will be held on April 4. More details to come soon. In the meantime, keep honing those trivia skills!
