The Literacy Connection, an affiliate of ProLiteracy America, Inc., is a non-profit,
community-based organization helping local individuals
acquire fundamental literacy
skills. Our small staff is aided by hundreds of
caring volunteer tutors who unselfishly
give their time and effort. Since 1983, Literacy
Connection programs have helped
thousand of area adults and youth acquire the skills they need to
realize personal success and
become fully functioning members of society.

Volunteer Our organization has a continuous need for volunteer literacy tutors for adult ESL and Basic Reading students. NEWS Carve time for fun November 8 Laughter for Literacy Comedy Night Join us to support local adult literacy programs at the 2nd annual Laughter for Literacy comedy night on November 8 at the Gail Borden Public Library. Come for cakes, candies and cookies at a pre-show bake sale, and stay for an evening of good, clean, laugh-out-loud improvisational comedy by Greenroom Productions (www.greenroomtheatre.com). The troupe will perform two shows, one at 7 p.m. and another at 9 p.m. Doors open 15 minutes prior to each show. Prepaid general admission tickets are $15 ($10 for students), or $20 at the door. Purchase tickets in person at The Literacy Connection's office on the 2nd floor of the library, at 270 N.
